IoT Middleware for Inteligent Building Applications This project is under the shelter of Taiwan Technology Building Center, collaborating with four other Lab. in Taiwan Tech. In this project we address the important issue in implementing IoT system for Intelligence building, which is about how the system are be able to bring the physical information or data to the application services in secure, reliable and efficient manner. Therefore there are two big domains have to be deal with: IoT devices and cloud computing domain. IoT devices implementations are necessary to meet some issue perspectives in conducting the access to the modern and future internet applications. On the very underlying layer, the characteristics of IoT in integrating heterogeneous sensor equipment and RFID systems bring some new emerging issues in relation to address the performance data interchange. Equally important will be pointed in performing intelligence process, where this is the system deliver some functions or actions to other domains. Along with that, the system implementation on the building requires the long term maintenance method to preserve the quality assessment. For sure these issues have particular tradeoff between the performance in processing, collecting and also controlling the intelligence information toward the system reliability. In accessing cloud computing domain, the preciseness and accuracy in accessing the information has the relation with system performance. Above all the network management has constrained to the whole end to end systems. On that direction, integration on such comprehensive issue on the IoT system set of applications managing the interface between IoT data and information systems as “middleware”. Focusing particularly on the middleware requirements in building information and control environments, on this project approached to investigate some of the above issues by address our approach could be effective integrated within cloud computing data management and control environment.  By these approaches the basic middleware system forming a web- based application are expected to provide the secureness and reliability on IoT to Cloud computing connectivity. Then this basic function will be extended to the some key features: Dynamic configuration, Context awareness, Adaptivity, Lightweight, Asynchronous communication. Therefore in this project the middleware system is designed by implementing semantic agents on the IoT device layer. This allows the computation process of IoT data can be flexibly performed on middleware layer or on cloud computing domain. Environment.  By these approaches the basic middleware system forming a web-based application are expected to provide the secureness and reliability on IoT to Cloud computing connectivity. Then this basic function will be extended to the some key features: Dynamic configuration, Context awareness, Adaptivity, Lightweight,  Asynchronous communication.
